About Us

Women’s Health Research Wales is committed to eliminating inequalities in the health and wellbeing of girls, women, and people who were assigned female at birth.

We are a pan-Wales research centre dedicated to women’s health, funded by Health and Care Research Wales.

Women’s Health Research Wales will put the improvement of women’s health and wellbeing and women’s voices as the driving force of our work.

Our Aims:

Over the next five years we will catalyse and energise effort across Wales in these five areas:

1.
Continue to expand our research portfolio with impactful, interdisciplinary, and methodologically rigorous portfolio of women’s health research beyond reproductive health.

2.
Stimulate innovation through collision space for academic-industry partnerships, innovation and commercialisation.

3.
Facilitate impact on health services and delivery through meaningful co-production and priority setting with policy makers, NHS staff, public, and third sector to ensure women’s voices are at the heart of WHRW.

4.
Ensure sex and gender are factors considered in all health and social care research in Wales.

5.
Build thriving network of experts to become future researchers, practitioners, policy makers, third sector and industry leaders in women’s health and social care.
